The Saturday Morning Family School Program
The Saturday Morning Family School is held at H. N. Richardson School and E. J. Patten School. The program is designed to meet the needs of school-age children and their parents. At the Saturday School, children and their families are welcome to participate in a wide range of cultural, social, and academic classes, which are offered in both English and Spanish. The classes are offered at no cost to the families. By linking the home, school, and community, the Saturday School is addressing the needs of the family.
There are three sessions: Fall, Winter, and Spring. Each session is 10 Saturdays in length. Classes last 2 1/2 hours. There are children's and adult classes. Children's classes may include: Creative Math, Reading Through Cooking, Reading Through Technology, The World Through Science, Literacy Through Photography, and Health. Adult classes may include: English As A Second Language, Family Literacy, Computer Training, Cake Decorating, Arts and Crafts, and Instrumental Guitar.
