General Education Development
The General Educational Development Testing Service (GEDTS) and the Office of Career and Technical Education have contracted with the Perth Amboy Board of Education to administer the GED test.
The Perth Amboy Testing Center is located at the Perth Amboy Adult Education Center, 178 Barracks Street, Perth Amboy, NJ 08861.
GED Testing is twice a month. For Registration and testing schedule, please call 732-376-6243. To register for the test you must have a Government issued identification, proof of address, money order of $50.00, and a state on-line-registration (ged123.org). The tests are open to English and Spanish speaking residents of the state of New Jersey. Accommodations are available for people with physical, learning, attention-deficit/hyperactivity, and psychological disabilities. Tests areas include Language Arts, Writing, Language Arts-Reading, Social Studies, Science, and Mathematics (GED/English). GED/S covers all the areas above and a sixth test is for English.
