Flu Notice
The flu, as well as bronchitis and pneumonia, has hit New Jersey. Many staff, as well as students are getting sick. Symptoms are coughing, sneezing, sore throat, nausea, headache, vomiting and fever. If your child is complaining of any of these symptoms please DO NOT SEND THEM TO SCHOOL. A large number of students, upon arrival at school, go immediately to the nurse's office vomiting and with fevers.
These illnesses can last for more than a few days and often reoccur if a child re-enters school to soon. It is important to remember that sending a sick child to school places other children in their class at risk.
If your child is taken ill at school, we will call you immediately to contact the person you have desiignated on your emergency card. Under NO circumstances will a child be allowed to leave the building alone.
Please keep your emergency contact numbers current.
Your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated.

Hepatitis B Vaccine
As of December 2001, Chapter 14 Regulation 16 of the State Sanitary Code from the New Jersey Department of Health revised the Hepatitis B immunization requirement. As a result of this change pupils entering K,1st, and 6th grades as of September 1, 2004 are required to have completed the series of (3) three Hepatitis B vaccinations.
If your child has not completed all (3) three doses of Hepatitis B vaccine, you must continue to follow up and complete the series within the (6) six month timeframe.
If your child has complied with this new requirement, or is in the process of complying, it is your responsibility to provide this documentation of each vaccine received to the school as soon as possible.
Your prompt action is appreciated in this matter.
