The mission of the Edmund Hmieleski, Jr. Early Childhood Center is to provide every 3 and 4 year old child a developmentally appropriate, quality preschool program designed to meet the child's individual needs. The Perth Amboy School System, guided by current brain research, professional standards and guidelines, has designed a high quality program based on the nationally known Creative Curriculum.
The program has been created to provide for social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth of young children in a safe and caring, learning environment. Each child will learn at his/her own rate based on their needs, interests, and abilities.
At the Edmund Hmieleski, Jr. Early Childhood Center, it is our mission to:
- Develop social competence by providing opportunities for children to make decisions and solve problems.
- Create aesthetic experiences using music, art, and literature.
- Facilitate the transition of children into elementary school by providing appropriate early childhood literacy and mathematical experiences.
